Diagnostics for Betatron Radiation generated from Multi-Petawatt Laser Wakefield Acceleration

POSTER

Abstract

Laser wakefield accelerators are capable of generating high brightness x-rays beams. Laser wakefield acceleration experiments were performed at the ZEUS laser system using its ultra-short pulse, multi-petawatt capabilities to produce high brightness betatron radiation. An extreme ultraviolet spectrometer was used to measure soft x-rays. Magnetic electron spectrometers were used to characterize electron energy spectrum. Interferometers were used for density measurements. The results from these diagnostics were compared with numerical models at this wavelength region.
