Select Puzzles in Hadronic B-meson Decays

Abstract

Hadronic decays of B-mesons to a pair of light pseudoscalar mesons are expected to obey a flavor-SU(3) symmetry among the light quarks. However, recent analyses of data from flavor factories have uncovered a possibility of a very large violation of flavor-SU(3) symmetry. I will discuss such an analysis, demonstrate how one to test violations of flavor symmetries, and identify its consequences.
