Solving TOV to model theoritical and tabular equation of state

Abstract



TOV equations can be solved to find a graph of mass/radius and pressure/radius of a neutron star. In order to do that a equation of state is required giving us a relationship between a star's energy density and pressure that is needed to solve said TOV equations.Creating a program that can take in different equations of state and use them to solve TOV equations can allow us to better compare results together with each other. The polytropic equation of state can be used as a testing guide to see if the program is able to correctly solve TOV equations. From those results we can then allow for the modification of different variables such as if a user would wanna look at a relativistic or non relativistic graph, or what kind of starting pressure to see how different variables affect the outcome of the graphs. From there onwards more complicated equations of state and the usage of tabular data for comparison. This serves as a valuable learning device for people new to TOV as well as being able to analyze data received from neutron stars.
