Effective lumped models of distributed elements for scalable design of superconducting quantum devices

ORAL

Abstract

In quantum circuit design, electromagnetic (EM) simulations are typically required at many steps of the design process. This is both computationally intensive and time-consuming. We develop and test an effective lumped oscillator model (LOM) for a CPW resonator coupled to arbitrary loads. The LOM uses geometric values and capacitances obtained from individual circuit element simulations to determine the system's Hamiltonian parameters of frequency, line-width, and coupling strength.
