Abstract
During my time at CERN, I performed truth-level analyses of simulated Higgs boson signal Monte Carlo samples, focusing on both gluon fusion (ggH) and vector boson fusion (VBF) production modes. Using custom ROOT C++, I extracted and studied the kinematics of electrons, muons, and photons, reconstructing leading and subleading distributions and normalizing observables such as transverse momentum, pseudorapidity, and invariant mass. A key part of the work involved Higgs reconstruction from dilepton (Z boson) and diphoton systems, alongside studies of Δφ correlations and kinematic cut efficiencies.
