FINeSSE, $\Delta$s measurement through neutrino scattering

ORAL

Abstract

FINeSSE, Fine-grained Intense Neutrino Scintillator Scattering Experiment, is an experiment to measure $\Delta$s (nucleon spin component carried by strange quarks). $\Delta$s is measured through neutrino-nucleon Neutral Current Elastic (NCE) scattering. A novel non-segmented liquid scintillator tracking detector can track low energy and large angled protons which is necessary for the extraction of $\Delta$s. A $\Delta$s measurement using neutrino beam is not only clean and robust theoretically, but also yields the smallest experimental error. An overview of the experiment will be discussed.
