pi0->gg decay width: final result from the PrimEx Collaboration

ORAL

Abstract

The pi0->gg decay width is one of the most precise and parameter-free quantities in the low-energy sector of QCD. While theoretical calculations have been performed with estimated uncertainties at the percent level, previously determined experimental results have much larger uncertainties. The PrimEx Collaboration successfully performed two Primakoff measurements of the pi0->gg decay width at Jlab Hall-B. The result from PrimEx-I, with 2.8% total uncertainty and published in 2011, significantly changed this sector of the PDG. The analysis of PrimEx-II has been recently completed with 1.7% total uncertainty. The final result from the PrimEx collaboration for the pi0->gg decay width will be presented in this talk.
