Fragmentation cross-sections of C and Al targets by 400MeV/u ¹⁶O

We have calculated the fragmentation cross-sections of fragments with Z = 1 - 9 in the interaction of 400MeV/u ¹⁶O ions with C and Al targets. Calculations are done using SAPTON model (Scattering And Production Theory Of Nuclei), and are compared with the available experimental data. The calculations are in very good agreement with the data and suggest that the emission of these fragments is dominated by the available phase space and Coulomb barrier. Comparison other models will be presented and discussed.
