The Impact of the BCS Theory on Condensed Matter Physics

Abstract

Fifty years after the BCS theory revolutionized our understanding of superconductivity it is interesting to look at the broad impact it has had and continues to have on physics. Here, I have been asked to focus on the importance of this seminal work for the field of condensed matter physics.
