Reception of the Kaluza Theory in Britain, 1921-1958

Abstract
The Kaluza five-dimensional unified thoery was part of a programme to geometrise physics largely abandoned in the wake of the successes of quantum mechanics. However, a small group of British physicists continued to work on the subject throughout the middle decades of the 20th Century.
