Adaptive networks: the example of consensus formation.

ORAL

Abstract

It is well known that the structure of a network can significantly influence the properties of the dynamical processes on them. Though, the interplay between a process and the network topology on adaptive networks is still an open question. Adaptive rewiring of links can happen in real life systems such as acquaintance networks where two people are more likely to maintain a social connection if their views and values are similar. Similar adaptation should also be observed in biological and ecological networks. In our study, we consider various systems modeling the consensus formation of people and try to identify the quantities that are relevant in determining the behavior of adaptive networks.
