Measuring Insulation in Walls Using a Thermocouple to Measure Temperature Differences

POSTER

Abstract

It would be useful to develop tools to measure building insulation non-invasively and inexpensively. The temperature difference between the surface of an exterior wall and the center of the room is a sensitive measure of the amount of insulation in the wall. We describe measurements using a thermocouple to determine the insulation in a mock house.
