The two-dimensional and three dimensional confinement of the hydrogen molecular ion, inside ellipses and spheroids, respectively

Abstract

The Schr\"{o}dinger equation for the confinement of the hydrogen molecular ion in the Born -- Oppenheimer is solved. The molecule is confined by rigid and non-rigid ellipses and spheroids. The energies for the ground state and the first excited states are determined.
