Interface States in the metal-CdSe interfaces

ORAL

Abstract

CdSe, a potential material for hybrid solar cells, has a well known reconstruction at the surface which removes the surface states. Using Density Functional Theory (DFT) we explore what happens to the now-removed surface states when CdSe is interfaced with two different metals, Al and Au. We compare and contrast this with the interfaces of a pristine unreconstructed CdSe surface with the two metals.
