Graphene Membrane Mechanics

Abstract

Graphene has extremely low mass density and high mechanical strength, useful qualities for mechanically vibrating systems. Here we report on construction and testing of graphene-based vibrating drumheads. We explore frequency response and damping characteristics, and energy transduction.
