Development of a Solid State NMR Physics Laboratory

POSTER

Abstract

We report on the progress of the development of a new physics laboratory at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW). This laboratory will be the first physics research laboratory at this institution. It will include a new solid state NMR experimental setup. This experimental setup will be comprised of a 400 MHz cryogen free, superconducting magnet manufactured by Cryogenic. It will also include a Tecmag Redstone NMR Spectrometer. This spectrometer is very flexible and therefore many different samples may be analyzed. For example, we plan to analyze the superconducting transition of the iron-chalcogenide FeTeSe and the hydrogen storage characteristics of metal hydrides.
