Enhacement of Superconductivity by Nematic Fluctuations

Abstract
It is increasingly clear that some form of electron-nematic order arises naturally in a wide variety of highly correlated electron fluids. Sometimes superconductivity with an enhanced Tc appears in the neighborhood of the quantum critical point corresponding to the onset of ground state nematic order. Theoretical reasons to expect a correlation between enhanced superconductivity and strong nematic quantum fluctuations and empirical tests of a causal relation between the two will be discussed.
