Bacterial Physiology during Intercellular Signaling

POSTER

Abstract

Cell-cell communication plays an important role in many biological processes. The communication is often mediated by diffusing chemical signals released by cells. Here we study how the bacterial physiological state responds to the intercellular signals and how individual cells benefit from those signaling-related processes. A better understanding of bacterial physiology during intercellular signaling could enable us to manipulate the behavior of cells and may help to understand biofilm formation.
