Propagation of Wall-Less Bacteria

POSTER

Abstract

Normally bacterial growth relies on the peptidoglycan cell wall. However, cells in a wall-free state can propagate in a wall-independent manner, which remains poorly understood. We will present our recent work on continuous propagation of wall-less bacteria and colony formation. The underlying mechanism is relevant to antibiotic resistance of pathogens.
