Intergenerational dynamics of individual cells reveal rules governing stochastic cell-size homeostasis

Abstract

In this talk I will first establish that cell size homeostasis is maintained under appropriate growth conditions, using multigenerational data from our experiments on individual C. Crescentus cells. I will then discuss how our data on intergenerational dynamics of cell size, cell shape and cell division times, obtained under several growth conditions, reveal the rules governing stochastic cell-size homeostasis.
