Passing on Millie's Legacy

Invited

Abstract

As a pioneer in nanotechnology and carbon science, a great scientist who has inspired numerous young people, Prof. Millie Dresselhaus has left an incredible legacy and influence to our scientific community. In my talk I will mention my personal journey with her during my time as a junior faculty in MIT, and reflect on things I have learned from her. I will briefly update on our recent research progress in 2D materials and carbon nanotubes, these fields she had envisioned and made tremendous impact. Let her example and passion continue to spur us to carry on such legacy to make contributions to our society.
