Detection of biomarkers in lipidic cubic phases
POSTER
Abstract
Lipidic cubic phases have been shown to be versatile platforms for the detection of biomarkers, viruses, bacteria and parasites. This technique produces birefringent crystals during a positive test, which can be detected by placing the sample between crossed-polarizers and shining light through. The intensity of light emerging from the setup constitutes the output signal, and can be related to the concentration of analyte present. In this work, we investigate how the thickness of the sample affects the output signal.
