Experimental Mapping of the Electronic Band Structure in TaNi2Te3: A Quasi-1D van der Waals Topological Metal

ORAL

Abstract

Recent theoretical work on TaNi2Te3 has identified this compound as a a potential quasi-1D van der Waals semimetal with Weyl points near the Fermi edge. In this presentation we offer insights from our photoemission studies, specifically employing microARPES and NanoESCA techniques. These investigations mark the effort to experimentally delineate the electronic band structure of TaNi2Te3. Our high-resolution dispersion measurements shed light on the material's topological nature. Moreover, the spin-resolved NanoESCA studies provide the first comprehensive mapping of spin texture of the surface states at EF. These results are consistent with density functional theory calculations of the Fermi surface and band structure.
