Kitchen Table Astronauts

POSTER

Abstract

This project involves developing digital science lessons for hands-on experiments that showcase a wide range of applications for the physical sciences, from the science of the kitchen to the science of space. We will do this by designing activities that use food to demonstrate different principles from chemistry and physics aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for middle school. The activities will also include information on how these principles are important in NASA's explorations of space. We have produced videos demonstrating the activity and giving background information about the science involved. Teacher feedback on the activity and potential for student learning will inform improvements in the next iteration of the curriculum.
