Poster: Modeling Open Quantum Systems Using QuTiP
POSTER
Abstract
To study the nonidealities we need to consider the open quantum system which is widely modeled with the Lindblad Master Equation. However, solving these equations may pose problems due to the increased complexity of the system dynamics. This solution can be found using a Python library known as QuTiP which has been built as a computationally viable tool that numerically solves the dynamics of both closed and open quantum systems. For example, the Jaynes-Cummings model is a description of how light interacts with matter within an optical cavity. Using QuTiP we have modeled the amplitude decay of the system due to different nonidealities (i.e., spontaneous emission and cavity leakage). We then compared our model against experimental trends and noticed a significant match to observed amplitude decay loss.
