Data Analysis of Stellar Spectra Using Fourier Analysis and Wavelet Analysis
POSTER
Abstract
Analyzing the periodic and localized data of the light intensity of stars recorded by Kepler Space Telescope can tell us a lot about the physics within the stars. In order to study the periodic and localized features of the intensities, Fourier analysis and Wavelet analysis are used. Fourier analysis is used to analyze the periodic features of the light spectrum, and can decompose the signal into amplitude and frequency. Wavelet analysis is able to analyze both the periodic features and the localized features of these signals. Wavelet In this project we have studied the spectra of several stars and the results are presented here.
