Cultural Collisions – an interdisciplinary science and art engagement and networking methodology
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
"Cultural Collisions" is an interdisciplinary science & art engagement and networking program with primary emphasis to inspire the next generation. Initially it involves establishing a dialogue between the scientific and the creative communities, followed by providing young students access through educational structures. This method enables transdisciplinary collaborations, combining key competences from different areas, creating synergy effects that benefit all partners involved, and have a significant impact on students. The program's fundamental assumption is that early engagement with art and science has positive effects on further education paths and career choices, especially in the STEM fields. Several examples will be presented how these collaborations has been established to develop and promote technical, scientific, artistic, and creative skills in pupils and network between high level partner institutions in science, technology, art, culture, education and administration.
