Possible unconventional superconductivity in altermagnetism
ORAL
Abstract
Altermagnet is an exotic class of magnetic materials that exhibits nodal point degeneracy on Fermi surface. In this talk, we study the possible intrinsic superconductivity of altermagnetism. Using the self-consistent mean field theory, we show that symmetry-protected point degeneracy plays an important role in determining pairing symmetry. p+ip chiral superconductivity can arise due to the spontaneous symmetry breaking of time-reversal symmetry. Finally, we discuss the realization of topological superconductivity in altermagnet, RuO2.
