Optimizing Local Hidden-Variable Descriptions for Quantum Many-Body States

ORAL

Abstract

Quantum many-body systems generically show entanglement in ground states and during their nonequilibrium dynamics. However, previous works have suggested that nevertheless relatively often the correlations between two subsystems (e.g. two spins) are local. We describe a numerical approach to find optimal local hidden-variable theories for a given reduced density matrix.
