Abstract

In the rapidly evolving landscape of global challenges, the role of science in bridging communities and fostering inclusive development is more critical than ever. This presentation, titled "Science as a Common Language for Building Bridges," delves into the pioneering efforts of the non-profit organization, Investing In People, in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the broader Central African region. For over a decade, this organization has been instrumental in kindling the flames of scientific curiosity and technological savvy among youth and the general public, primarily through its flagship initiative, the Science and Technology Week. The 11th edition of this event, themed "Science as a Common Language, Here and There," encapsulates the essence of our mission – to forge connections between diverse scientific and citizen communities and harness science and technology as pivotal tools for addressing global challenges.

This presentation is more than a narrative of our journey; it is a clarion call for action. It underscores the necessity for science, particularly physics, to be more inclusive and for the scientific community to play a vital role in unlocking the potential of young minds, regardless of gender, across the globe, and particularly in Africa. We firmly believe that the awakening and contribution of these young individuals are the keystones for the advancement of scientific disciplines and the construction of a world where everyone can thrive. "Science as a Common Language for Building Bridges" is not just our story; it is an invitation to the global scientific community to participate in this transformative endeavor, fostering a more inclusive and connected world through the universal language of science.
