How Peter Shor Changed Physics

Abstract
I will discuss Peter Shor’s major discoveries in the 1990s (superpolynomial quantum speedups, quantum error correction, and fault-tolerant quantum computation), and some of the ways these developments have enriched our understanding of the physical world.
