Designing Artificial Quantum Materials in Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Moire Heterostructures
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
Van der Waals heterostructures of atomically thin crystals offer an exciting new platform to design artificial quantum materials with novel and tunable quantum phases. In this talk, I will describe different emerging correlated phases in transitional metal dichacogenide moire heterostructures, including correlated charge-transfer insulators, in-plane charge transfer excitons upon optical excitation, and Wigner molecular crystals.
