High-accuracy noise characterization for error mitigation.

ORAL

Abstract

A detailed characterization of the noise associated with gate execution can provide valuable information about a quantum processor and is a key ingredient in the implementation of so-called noise-aware error mitigation techniques. The latter have recently demonstrated their potential in reducing the effects of errors even on large quantum processors and are likely to play a central role in enabling the execution of large circuits in the NISQ era. In this talk, we present a new method for boosting the accuracy of noise models characterization, thereby increasing the potential effectiveness of noise-aware error mitigation strategies.
