Encapsulation of Water in Polymer-Shelled Nanoparticles via Flash Nano Precipitation

POSTER

Abstract

Encapsulating various components in polymer-shelled nanoparticles is a key strategy for controlled release in many applications. This project focuses on using Flash Nano Precipitation (FNP) to encapsulate water in a core-shell nanoparticle structure with a polystyrene shell. The nanoparticles are characterized using Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to determine their size distribution and morphology. Additionally, we are developing a computational model of the FNP process using LAMMPS to simulate particle formation and optimize the conditions for stable encapsulation. This work aims to refine the FNP technique for a range of applications, with a focus on controlling the size and stability of encapsulated components.
