Entangle Students with Quantum from the Start

Abstract
Quantum physics is showing up everywhere in popular culture from Marvel movies to ads for new TVs. A lot of the use is laughably wrong to physicists but there is also usually some kernel of truth. Because so few people have learned any quantum physics, the interesting theory and the ridiculous farce remain unseen. This also means that we are missing out on inspiring the next generation of quantum researchers and entrepreneurs, allowing others to achieve key advances in quantum technology before the US. As a profession, we need to branch out of the classical mechanics curriculum. Teaching quantum physics to learners without a large amount of classical mechanics knowledge is doable and rewarding. This talk will discuss this need as well as efforts underway to bring quantum into the K-12 or even 16 classroom.
