Low Power Textile Integrated Electroosmosis Pump for Active Moisture and Sweat Management

POSTER

Abstract

In this study, we present a groundbreaking demonstration of textile-integrated moisture and sweat management through the implementation of a low-power textile-integrated electroosmosis pump (EOP). By strategically reducing the distance between electrodes, we have developed a device design that significantly decreases power consumption. At 2.5V, The device showcases a water flux of 205 mg·min-1·cm-2 requiring only 0.79 W of power, marking a substantial advancement in moisture permeability performance compared to previous membrane-based electroosmotic pumps. Moreover, beyond driving liquid flow, our study demonstrates the capability of managing moisture, and humidity, by effectively transporting water vapor with our

devices. This work represents a promising step forward in the development of efficient, low-power solutions for textile-integrated moisture management systems.
