Determining the Optimal Bolus Thickness to Maximize Skin Dose
POSTER
Abstract
This study aims to determine the optimal bolus thickness that maximizes skin dose in a simplified radiation therapy model. Using a computational model implemented in Python, we simulated and analyzed the relationship between skin dose and bolus thickness. Our simulations identified an optimal thickness of (1.3 ± 0.3) mm. These findings offer valuable insights for optimizing radiation therapy treatments, enabling more precise dose delivery to target tissues.
