Kaon Structure in the Covariant Parton Model

ORAL

Abstract

Parton models, initially developed by Richard Feynman, describe the internal structure of hadrons by treating them as collections of point-like particles. In our work, we investigate the structure of the kaon, a meson, using one such model known as the Covariant Parton Model (CPM). The CPM consolidates experimental observations in high energy environments and phenomena predicted by quantum chromodynamics by using a set of momentum distributions with a Lorentz covariant formalism. We calculate the kaon's transverse momentum distributions (TMDs) and quasi-PDFs (qPDFs) in the CPM using unpolarized twist-2 parton distribution functions (PDFs) as input for parametrization developed from Drell-Yan data by Z.-N. Xu, et al. We aim to provide theoretical background for lattice QCD calculations and experimental work probing hadron structure.
