Enhancing hand visibility in lightboard videos with a blacklight-reactive glove

Abstract

In some lightboard setups, especially those with frame-mounted presenter lighting, the presenter's hands may become less visible when they are close to the board, for example when pointing at writing or equations. I have found that hand visibility can easily be enhanced by wearing a blacklight reactive glove, illuminated by an inexpensive and easily-constructed presenter blacklight system. In many cases, the blacklight reactive glove by itself delivers a substantial visibility enhancement. Video frames illustrating different illumination scenarios will be presented.
