Abstract

The research being presented is a production prepared video clip of educational physical science experiment episodes. Using a unique background in theatrics and production, coupled with passion and expertise of the physical world, the intention is to build a resource library of short research-based educational podcasts for the modern-day learner. Experimental research, expert interviews, and animation on varied subjects of physics will enhance the educational experience and knowledge retention of the viewer. Physical Science Experiment Production: Particle Detectors. The research being explored at NIKHEF in Amsterdam, Holland is examined and highlighted uses resources available to the graduate researcher at University of Massachuettes-Dartmouth. The content of this production episode captures the background of the problem, nature of the research, and proposed experimental future of particle detector technology. With the collaboration of Dr. Harry Van Der Graaf and Ms. Rita Roy a viewer with absorb the different between reflection and transmission dynodes in technological advancements and the importance of the CMOS pixel chip in detecting subatomic particles.
