Recognizing and Engineering Routes Around the Cognitive Obstacles Encountered by Non-majors in Introductory Calculus-based Physics - Part 3

POSTER

Abstract

In Parts 1 and 2 of this work, we provided insights into routes around a host of common cognitive challenges -- ranging from difficulties with spatial visualization to struggles in dealing with abstractions. In this work, we focus on strategies for guiding students towards being willing and able to execute multi-step reasoning processes to solve complicated problems.
