Coherence and correlations in quantum degenerate atomic gases

Abstract

This talk will provide an overview of some recent experiments exploring the complementary properties of coherence and correlations in quantum degenerate gases. Experiments with both bosonic and fermionic ensembles will be discussed. The primary emphasis will be on new developments in the realization and study of the phases of strongly correlated quantum systems.
