Abstract

The initial meeting of the Southern Ohio Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers (SOS/AAPT) was held on May 21, 1983 at the University of Cincinnati. The planning began long before that first meeting and therefore we are now in the time period of the celebration our silver anniversary. The author of this paper was the primary organizer of this section and served as the convener of that first meeting and then the first president of the section. Memories of the ``early days'' will be shared both verbally and pictorially in this presentation and it is hoped that time will permit additional thoughts and ideas from the audience.
