An Overview of the NSF Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program

The Division of Undergraduate Education at the National Science Foundation promotes excellence in undergraduate science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education for all students and provides opportunities for faculty to obtain funding for projects that address current challenges and opportunities in undergraduate STEM education. The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program responds to the critical need for K-12 science and mathematics teachers by recruiting and preparing talented STEM majors and professionals to become teachers. Noyce investments support the development of new models for preparing teachers and the expansion of the nation’s capacity to recruit, prepare and retain STEM teachers in high-need districts. This presentation will offer an overview of the Noyce Program, including identifying common strengths and weaknesses for Noyce proposals.
