Abstract

This workshop is a follow-up to the plenary session about the Physics Teacher Education Program Analysis (PTEPA) Rubric, a new instrument designed by PhysTEC to provide a specific, objective, and reliable guide for physics teacher education programs. How can the assessment be best used to direct program improvement? In this interactive workshop, you will rate your program on elements of the rubric, compare your results to the best programs in the country, and use the results to strategize about program improvements. We will discuss do’s and don’ts, consider how to interpret the data for your local context, and brainstorm the most powerful next steps for you.
