New Resources for Getting the Facts Out about STEM Teaching Professions

Abstract

In this session participants will explore and interact with new tools and resources for teacher recruitment produced by the Get the Facts Out (GFO) project. These print and online materials are freely available on the newly redesigned GFO website. All print materials (posters, brochures, flyers, etc) are editable so that users can make them more relevant to each program’s local context if needed. The focus of the session will be sharing how these tools and resources were developed and tested along with specific details on how to successfully modify them. GFO is an NSF funded project designed to change the conversation around STEM teaching recruitment and ultimately increase the enrollment in STEM teacher preparation programs. The project is a partnership between the American Physical Society, American Chemical Society, the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, and AAPT led by the Colorado School of Mines.\\ \\In collaboration with Duane Merrell, Brigham Young University;, Savannah Logan, Wendy Adams, Colorado School of Mines
