Abstract

The Physics Teacher Education Program Analysis (PTEPA) Rubric is a new instrument designed by PhysTEC to provide a specific, objective, and reliable guide for~physics teacher education programs. How can the assessment be best used to direct program improvement? In this interactive workshop, you will rate your program on elements of the rubric, compare your results to the best programs in the country, and use the results to strategize about program improvements. We will orient you to the rubric, show you data visuals of your results, and help you consider how to interpret the data for your local context. While no preparation is needed, it would be helpful to download the Excel rubric and rate yourself on the first three standards, prior to the workshop. The rubric and associated materials are at http://phystec.org/thriving.
