How effective is teacher prep in physics? A group of teachers from a variety of backgrounds across the United States discuss their experiences teaching high-school physics, and which aspects of their teacher preparation programs were most useful for the realities of the modern-day physics classroom. Led by PhysTEC Teacher of the Year Matthew Blackman, the panel will explore ideas regarding giving teachers the tools to design quality lessons and labs long after graduation, building professional learning communities, balancing content knowledge and pedagogy, promoting effective use of language, helping teachers navigate the certification process, utilizing educational technology, and much more!
