Observation of a Z boson produced in association with a charm quark at the Fermilab Tevatron

ORAL

Abstract

The production of W and Z bosons in conjunction with heavy quarks has been the object of study at the Tevatron and LHC. In addition to testing the standard model, understanding these processes is relevant to studies of the Higgs boson as well as searches for new physics. We present a new analysis of Z boson plus charm production with the CDF detector at the Fermilab Tevatron using fully reconstructed D* decays.
