Developing Students' Research Skills throughout the Undergraduate Physics Laboratory Curriculum

POSTER

Abstract

In November 2014, the AAPT Executive Board officially endorsed the "AAPT Recommendations for the Undergraduate Laboratory Curriculum.'' The recommendations are broadly written set of objectives, experiences, and learning outcomes for the introductory and advanced (i.e. beyond first year) physics lab curricula that can be implemented at any college or university. This document promotes the development of skills and competencies critical for the research environment as well as future employment in a range of job sectors. This poster will provide an overview of the Recommendations and will address how they can be implemented and used to prepare the next generation of experimental physicists.
